The holidays are here.
Many people are already off for the break. Others are still working.
Regardless of your status, one thing is the same, there is still time to get things done before the year is over.
Don’t let the end of your year go to waste.
Start (or Maybe Finish) Something
The year isn’t over just yet.
There is still over a week left before the New Year.
You could punt and wait until next year. Honestly, many people have already selected that option.
Or you could do just one more thing. Or maybe a few things during the time that remains in the year.
‘Don’t waste the end of your year, there’s still time to get things done.’
There is still valuable time left which you could make good use of.
Here are 10 Things You Could Do Before The Year is Over:
- Finish Something – Don’t leave undone work that will just create even more work upon your return. Close out those tasks before you unplug for the holidays.
- Start Something – Don’t wait for the New Year to begin something new. Maybe it is a new goal or project, get a head start now.
- Do Something You’ve Been Putting Off – What has been on your Someday-Maybe list? Chances are some things have been on that list for a long time. Pick one and do it before the year’s over.
- Do Something You Have Always Wanted to Do – While everyone else is busying bustling for the holidays, it’s the perfect time to do something you have always wanted to do. Many businesses that aren’t related to the holiday rush are wide open this time of year. A great time to do something off the beaten path.
- Plan a Goal – Don’t wait until the New Year’s resolution time to plot out your next big goal. Use some of the downtime to design your future now.
- Get a Workout In – Are you waiting until after the holidays to start your fitness routine? Don’t. Hit the gym and get your workout in today. You do have time to workout.
- Work When Others Aren’t – The workplace is less busy during the end of the year, and it’s one of the best times to get work done. Take advantage of an empty office environment to maximize your productivity.
- Get Caught Up – Nothing creates more stress than being behind on your work. Use the final time of the year to clean up your todo list and head into the New Year caught up on your tasks.
- Review Your Year – What did you accomplish this year? The final weeks of the year are a perfect time to look back with perspective on your wins and losses. Write in your journal to remember what you have done and learn from what you wish you hadn’t.
- And of Course, Look Ahead – You can’t get where you are going if you don’t know where that is. Live for today, but look ahead to what can be tomorrow. It’s going to be a great next year!
Finish Your Year Before It’s Over
Don’t let the final days and week of the year slip away.
Spend time with your family. Do things that are important to you. And make the most of the time left.
The year isn’t over yet… do something today!

Great post, Craig. I’m actually going to do #9 next week. I have a set of questions I’ve put together that I will go through and answer in my journal to help me evaluate this year as I continue to work on plans for next year. Thanks for the post!
All great ideas. I’ve been upping my workouts this month because I feel the same way – why wait? I also plan to delve deep into numbers 9 and 10 during the next week. Thanks for the helpful ideas. And Happy Holidays!
Great ideas. After read your post, I did #1, 2, 7 and I’m planning for #9, 8, 5 :-). Tks
PS Why don’t you have the possibility to put yours post on Pinterest? I keep there many references and I would like to do the same with many of your post. For me your blog is the best for motivation and productivity. (Sorry for my poor english!)
