The Right Time is Always Right Now

Right Now is the Right Time

You may be asking yourself, “When is the right time to start?”

To begin your big goal. To commence working out. Or even just to do the tasks on your task list.

The answer is always the same… “Right now is the right time.”

Waiting for the Perfect Time

You may say you are not ready.

You might say that things will be easier if you wait.

Or that you are waiting for a better, more convenient time.

Yet, “the perfect time” is a myth. And you may run out of time if you delay.

“The right time is always right now.”

Later is never the right time to start. It’s always right now.

Right now… launches new businesses.
Right now… gets you in shape.
Right now… beats the deadline.
Right now… writes a book.
Right now… moves you one step to your goals.
Right now… crosses that item off your list.

You might think you’ll have more time later, but right now gets the work done.

The Right Time is Now

Stop putting things off. There won’t be a “better” or “easier” time.

Not later. Not tomorrow. Not when the stars align.

If you wait, you may be too late.

The right time is always right now.

Question: What are you waiting for? What do you need to do “right now?” You can leave a comment by clicking here.

  1. Now is the right time if you have a clear idea about your path towards your goal, the constraints and the risks. If you don’t have that then starting now is a waste of energy.
If the goal is “run a full marathon (42km distance” and I would start now going for it without any training and the knowledge that I get out of breath after 100 meters then I have a good chance to end up like the messenger in the greek saga that collapsed to death after finishing the distance.
But if I have a clear idea, then I could start now doing exercises, and starting with a 1km run, next time 2 km and so on. Then i have a good chance to reach my goal.
A long time ago I attended a management training. We played a simulation game there, the objective was to to to the mountains to dig for gold. And of course there was the “start now otherwise your competitior will get all the gold until you’re there” mantra. The result was that the early starter teams all died from dehydration while crossing the desert on the way to the mountains. Its one thing to put your own life at risk, but as a manager someone should know the risks before he starts to send his team to such a mission. Even if it was just a simulation.

So yes, now is the time to ask your self if your path is clear, you are prepared and you are willing to take the risk that is still there because you don’t know everything in advance. If the anywer is yes, then you should start.

    1. I agree in having a clear path, but some people including myself in the past become paralysed by creating “the perfect plan”. If I wanted to run a marathon and ran out of breath at a 100 meters, I would see if tomorrow I could run 125 meters before running out of breath. If I could persist and stay consistent, who knows, in a couple months I could be running a mile, and that a mile longer than if I never started.

Now, I am not saying to act blindly, I would still be researching information on how to run an marathon as I am doing this, but I believe it can be a combination of the two. When you don’t know what to do, do something and you will figure it out as you go. It can be very hard to define a clear path for some.

  2. Good point. There is Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday………but there is no someday!
