Stop Trying to Escape Your Life, and Live It!

Too often I hear people say things like, “Things will be better when I…” or “Someday I am going to do…”

But, “some day” seldom arrives.

It stays in some imaginary future.

Instead of trying to escape your current existence, live it to fullest.

Tomorrow Isn’t a Destination

Do you complain that you aren’t where you want to be? Only to say that you will get there “some day.”

You promise that you will start your dreams “tomorrow,” as if it is a date on the calendar.

Do any of these excuses sound familiar?

  • When the time is right…
  • When things have settled down…
  • When I have more time…
  • When things get back to normal…

Yet, there is no such thing as a normal life. There’s just life. Your life.

You can change your life.
You can change your job.
You can even change your relationships.

But, live your life, whatever it is. Because you don’t get more time later.

Today is where you live. And the only place where you can do what you want.

“Tomorrow isn’t a destination, and success isn’t some place you arrive.”

Life is not a success trip, where you magically arrive at your success destination of fortune and fame.

Rather, it’s the journey.

And it’s about enjoying where you are now.

Enjoy the Ride… Every Day

Life doesn’t have some magical time when all your hard work suddenly “pays off” and you “reach success.”

There is no shiny existence tomorrow. Yes, you may be better off. You might have more money. (Or less.)

But, that day isn’t here yet. And it may never come.

Today is your day. Choose your life.

And live it… every single day.

Question: Do you live for today? Or do you daydream for day that may never come? You can leave a comment by clicking here.

  1. Your not telling me to drop my “Someday/Maybe” GTD list, eh? 😉 There is a small difference between that “someday” that we hope that a mircale happens and everything is fine and that “someday” that we know we will do something, but we also know that we can’t do it right now. The second “someday” is a long distance goal. Example: Learning a musical instrument is a long journey and yes, someday you will have a concert, but until then you need to work towards this goal. The important step is to transform the “someday dream” into a “someday goal” and take action on it.
