Catching Up Feels Good to Do

Catch up Tasks
We all have something to catch up on.

Perhaps, a task that has been hanging out on your todo list for too long. Or an item that has been on your Someday List forever.

What do you need to catch up on?

Catching Up Feels Good to Do

Last week was extremely busy for me. (An understatement…)

However, this week was a lull and I found myself with some downtime. I used this opportunity to catch up on tasks that were out-staying their welcome on my todo list.

I knocked out a task that had been on my list for 3 months. I then opened up Wunderlist (and turned the volume up) and hit the complete button with a loud DING!!!

When I finished, I thought, “That felt great!

I was so motivated at that point, that I looked at my list and said, “Who’s next???”

The productivity momentum motivated me to examine my Someday-Maybe list. I picked off a long-standing item off of that list. In fact, I think it was an idea I had come up with last year.

These “catch up” tasks often don’t take as much time that you think. Often, it’s the perceived effort that prevents you from getting them done.

In both cases, I was able to get a long-standing todo done in just a few hours. The result was a huge weight was lifted off my todo list.

Complete a Catch Up Task Today

It feels great to cross “catch up” tasks off your list.

Before you head out today, see what you can get off your list.

It could be a long-standing todo that has been lingering, or an item that you just haven’t gotten around to doing.

Catch up on something today… it just feels good.

  1. We just completed refinishing the floors in our house. I haven’t been able to do my weekly cleaning for a while and it was starting to get to me. Yesterday I took advantage of the opportunity and did my regular weekly chores. It felt GREAT. I’m always amazed at how good I feel after I do something I’ve been dreading or that’s been on my list a while.

  2. I hate cleaning the bathrooms in my home and I really procrastinate so when I do finally clean them, the job has increased in size. I tell myself that I will never wait so long to clean the bathrooms. Is anyone has this problem? If so, were you able to turn things around? Thanks!!
