Sometimes Time Does Stop…

My life was changed this week.

I knew it was coming. Yet, I was not ready.

There are some things you can never be ready for until they are here.

On Thursday, I sent this tweet…

It is at these moments in our lives that time does stop…

Sometimes You Can Stop Time

We all have the same amount of time in the day.

Yet, I am here to tell you that sometimes you can stop time.

My daughter was born at 11:28PM Wednesday night.

And time did stop, indeed.

From our perspective, the seconds were hours… and the hours days.

When we left the hospital a few days later, we had no idea what day of the week it was.

Nor did we care.

In fact, we weren’t even sure what hour of the day it was… either.

For that period, nothing else mattered except family.

Work didn’t enter even enter my mind, even though many of my co-workers sent well wishes.

I turned off everything. Phone. Email. Twitter. My website.

My wife, my son, and my new daughter were all that were on my mind…

My new daughter!

We had decided not to find out in advance, and what a surprise it turned out to be!

What Matters Most…

We all have moments in our lives when time stops.

Happy times. Sad times. Fun times. And even scary times.

When time stops for you… make sure you make the most of the moment.

Question: When did time last stop for you?

  1. Congratulations Craig. Your lovely message brought back the highest emotions to me while remembering the birth of my own daughter. The most treasured moment of my life. My best wishes to you and your family. You all have a new dimension of love in your lives

  2. Major congrats, Craig! What a true blessing she is and I can’t even imagine how much love must have been felt in that hospital room that very night.

Family is precious and you’ve now sharing your love again – with the entire world – by bringing in an extension of your love. Take time. Cherish it. And, when you are ready, we will all be here!

  3. You daughter is perfect! Congratulations. I know exactly what you mean about time stopping. The first time for me was 29 1/2 years ago when I held my newborn daughter in my arms. Time stopped again in a most profound way when I watched my daughter have my first granddaughter and a few years later my second granddaughter. Those were magical and momentous occasions for me.
