  1. Thanks for reminding everyone that a 1 day vacation has its benefits as the possibilities are endless. Even a half-day vacation is worth the time off from work and life as I’ve blogged about.
#16 – Tour your own city – is my favorite. It is all about having a vacation mindset; if you feel like you are on vacation then you are!
My advice is to pretend to be a tourist for a day. Browse the official “visit-your-city” website to find an event scheduled for that day. It could be a lecture, exhibition, walking tour, outdoor performance, market, matinee at the theater, or whatever activity you would partake if visiting another place on vacation. When someone asks where you are visiting from, tell them you are on vacation for the day! 🙂
    Enjoy your one-day vacation…

  2. If you drive everywhere, I like to park it and get on a train or bus and tour around my city. All cities have a day pass and you can jump on and get off as much as you like. I can spend an entire day doing things. Go to a local waterfront, head out towards the small towns just outside the city and enjoy some nature. If its summer, take your bike with you too
