Thinking about getting an Apple Watch?

Listen to Episode #100 of Erik Fisher’s “Beyond the Todo List.”

Erik, myself, and Mike Vardy (of “The Productivityist“) debate the uses and productivity of the new Apple Watch.

I discuss many of the tasks that I currently employ with my Apple Watch, and Mike voices his concerns about how the Apple Watch can be a distraction. (Secretly, I think Mike is just jealous that he doesn’t have one yet… :P)

16 Thoughts from Actually Using the Apple Watch

Using Apple Watch-1

I have been wearing the Apple Watch for a short time now, and I am very impressed.

It is a very nice watch.

There have been myriad reviews, insights, and even complaints. Some of these have been good, some have been misinformed, and many have even been from individuals who haven’t even used an Apple Watch.

So today, I want to share 16 of my initial experiences from actually using the Apple Watch.

Turn Off Your Technology for Better Conversations

Turn off tech

Have you ever been talking with someone who is looking at their technology more than they are making eye contact with you?

Surfing on their laptop? Or answering email? Tapping away on their phone?

It does’t make you feel good. Nor does it make for a good conversation.

For more effective communication, you need to turn off the distractions while you are talking.

10 Ways the Apple Watch Will Save You Time

Save Time With Apple Watch

Monday, I wrote about my initial impressions with the Apple Watch. (Read them here.)

As the launch quickly approaches, there are still many questions about its use and features.

The big question on my mind is, “Will the Apple Watch be a true timesaver? Or just another shiny gadget that interrupts our lives?”

My 8 Initial Apple Watch Impressions

Apple Watch on Wrist

On Friday, I was lucky enough to have the first appointment at a Phoenix Apple Store to try on the new Apple Watch.

I have been looking forward to the Apple Watch release since its announcement last fall. Yet, even this close to launch, much remains to be seen about the device’s use and functionality.

Read on, for my initial impressions from a hands on with the Apple Watch.

8 Reasons I Switched Back to a Full-Sized iPad

iPad Switch

As you probably know, I am a big fan of Apple devices and how they drive my productivity.

They are simple. They just work. And they get the job done.

So, you might be surprised to hear that I recently traded in my iPad Mini. No reason to panic, it was to upgrade to the latest iPad Air 2.

This is the first time in years I have used a full-sized tablet and it has been a game changer.

21 Dos and Don’ts to Improve Your Email

Better Email

Email.

Just the word makes many people shiver.

Email has become a scourge in many workplaces.

Too many emails flooding your inbox, poorly written notes, and senseless Reply-All copies.

The good news is that email can be a productive tool if you follow some common sense tactics.

Saving Time with Apple Pay

Apple Pay 3

I am very excited about Apple Pay. (Disclaimer: Yes, I am a big Apple fan.)

In my opinion, it is the biggest game-changer that Apple announced recently.

It has kind of been overshadowed by the iPhone 6 (and Plus). And the Apple Watch. And iPad Air 2. And more.

However, it went live last week, and I have been testing it every opportunity I get.

Out of the gate, I must say I am very impressed. Apple Pay will make it easier and quicker to make payments both in-store and especially online.
