Time is a currency.
It is what makes up life. And it is the one thing in life that you cannot replace.
You don’t get more later. You can’t directly buy more. And, ironically, you truly never know how much you have left.
Ask, “What am I spending my time on?” The answer might surprise you.
Are You Spending your Time Wisely?
No one gets more time.
You can’t go to the store and “get more.” (But, you can sometimes buy more of the time you have.)
On the flip side, time has to be spent in order to receive its value. You can’t hoard time. Nor do you receive interest on time not spent.
And how you spend it makes all the difference.
“Goals and greatness are bought via time and practice.”
If you have things you aren’t getting done, you need to ask yourself how you are spending your time.
Are you investing it on the right things in life? Are you spending it on the things you need to get done to get ahead?
If not, you need to reevaluate your time spending strategy.
Here are 5 Common Mistakes People Make Spending Their Time:
- Spending It On the Wrong Things – Are you spending your time wisely, and doing the things that are most important to you? If you are failing to get your work done, or not reaching your goals, you need to reevaluate where you are spending your time.
- Being Too Frugal – You have to spend your time. Being frugal with your time isn’t something to be proud of. You have to get out there and live your life. Don’t be one of those people who gets to the end of their life and says, “I wish I had done… that,” but never did.
- Not Enjoying It– It amazes me when people go through life miserable about how they are spending their time. It is your life. It is your time. Make sure you enjoy what you are doing. Don’t wait for “someday” to come. Enjoy your time each and every day.
- Being Wasteful – The saying goes, “You are what you eat.” The same applies to time, “You are what you do.” Spending your time wastefully, is like living a life of junk food. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “No one ever became successful by sitting on the couch watching TV.”
- Not Protecting It – If you let others “steal you time,” they will eventually take it all. Many people guard their money, yet give away their time for free. Time is your most valuable asset, make sure you treat it that way.

This quote from Ben “the legend” Franklin just came to mind when reading this:
“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”
