We all have tasks that haunt us.
The ones that we push-off repeatedly.
Ones we know we need to get done, but don’t allow enough time for.
And others still, that are forgotten until it’s too late.
What are the missing pieces in your productivity today?
Three Things You’re Not Getting Done
Chances are you have 3 important things you are not getting done today.
You may be completing many tasks, but unless you are getting the right things done, it won’t matter how much you check off your list.
“You may be busy, but that doesn’t mean you are productive.” (Tweet this Quote)
Are you getting the right tasks done? Or do you have important tasks that continue to be left undone?
Here are 3 Important Things You’re Probably Not Getting Done Today:
- The Thing You Don’t Want to Do – This is the task you have been avoiding. Maybe you have been putting it off for days or weeks. (Or years!) Get this task front-and-center. Make it visible. It’s hard to avoid a task when it’s constantly in your face.
- The Thing You Have to Do – This is the important task that you must get done before you go home. Schedule time and make an appointment with this important todo. Get it done early in the day, so that it does not prevent you from getting out the door on time.
- The Thing You Are Forgetting To Do – You keep forgetting this task. Yet, it comes back to haunt your mind halfway through your evening. It bothers you all night and keeps you from sleeping. The tactic here is to write it down immediately when you think of it. Put it on your list not matter how small of a task it is. Let your list remember it, so you don’t have to.
Get Those Important Tasks Done
Focus on the important tasks that you aren’t getting done.
Don’t let those critical tasks slip by while you work on busy work.
Get them visible, get them scheduled, and most importantly, get them done.

The article is not what I thought it would be. But, I understand completely. I have to ask myself are these three things human nature or excuses. Either way they keep me from being productive. Thank you for the concise explanation. I will be conscience of it today.
This also was a bit of a twist from what I expected…but Craig hits the nail smack on the head! It’s NOT a short list of 3 things we all must do (…save for retirement, prepare legal papers, or get ‘whatever’ in order that we’ve been procrastinating, etc.) rather, it is a look into our un-lit closets, and a nudge to turn the light on, and see clearly what we’ve left in the dark corners for another day. Keep it up Craig. Thanks. Gib
