8 Photo Apps to Make Your iPhone More Productive

Camera phones have forever changed our lives.

Instead of carrying multiple devices, we can carry one.

Many of us have our cameras with us every second of the day.

This has forever changed the way we document our lives. (Just look at the news!)

I love my iPhone 4S camera. It is my one and only camera.

Today, I want to share some of my favorite photo apps, to make your photography even more productive.

One Camera Phone to Rule Them All

The iPhone is the # 1 camera phone for taking photos.

If you have any doubt, take a look at these stats. The iPhone 4, 4S, 3, and 3GS lead, no they dominate, all other camera phones.

“There is no need for a separate camera anymore.

You can shoot, edit, and share your photos right from your phone.

The iPhone is the most extensive photo studio you can get.”

So, as you enjoy your vacation time, and make sure that you take lots of photos of family, friends, and fun!

One Camera, Many Apps

One of my favorite time management principles is The Power of 1. That is, minimizing your tools by having only one tool for each task.

When it comes to cameras, most of us have come to rely on our phones as our one and only photography device.

There really isn’t need for another camera. And with the iPhone, there are so many photography apps, that you can do almost anything you can imagine with your photos.

Here are 8 of my favorite iPhone Photography Apps:

  1. Instagram – Instagram is one of the fastest growing photo sharing platforms. You can snap a photo and post it within seconds to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or even email. Instagram is known for its set of image filters which can instantly turn even the most mundane pic into art. If you are looking for the simplest way to make your photos look great and post them online,  try Instagram in the App Store.  (Free)
  2. WordFoto – Ever see those really cool word art photos? Did you know you can make one on your iPhone? WordFoto lets you do just that. You can enter your list of words and WordFoto does the magic of making your word art. You don’t need a graphic artist to make amazing art for your website or blog. Instead, use WordFoto from the App Store ($1.99)
  3. 8MM Vintage Camera – You can edit your video on your iPhone with Apple’s iMovie, but if you want to make a cool video that looks like it was shot using an old-time video camera, try 8mm Vintage Camera in the App Store ($1.99)
  4. ColorSplash – ColorSplash lets you make really cool pictures where only a specific color shows. See my example below where I made only the red color show in my Red Bull pic. Get Color Splash in the App Store ($0.99)
  5. Diptic – Diptic lets you take several photos and make a fancy collage. You can pick from one of many layouts and simply drop your photos into the frames. Many people use Diptic to make their photo collages before posting to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Get Diptic in the App Store $0.99
  6. Comic Life – Life is often like a comic, and if you have ever wanted to add your own captions to your photos, then you have to try Comic Touch. ($2.99)
  7. TimeLapse – Time lapse lets you shoot time-lapse video right from your iPhone. The effect is amazing. The screenshot below shows the options for your video. If you want to shoot some really great time-lapse video, then get a camera mount and TimeLapse. ($1.99)
  8. Camera+ – This is the Swiss Army Knife of camera apps. Camera+ is currently is in the top 10 of the App Store. I have only tried it recently and admit that it is one of the most feature-rich apps out there. You can do almost anything with your photos in this app. If it has a weakness, it is too many features. I prefer the simplicity of Instagram but if you are looking for one App that does it all, get Camera+ in the App Store. ($0.99)

Photograph Your Life

The camera in the iPhone has forever changed how we document our lives.

The new 8MP camera on the iPhone 4S replaces any point and shoot camera.

You don’t need another device.

And if you want to do professional editing and effects, there’s an app for that.

How has your phone camera changed your life? What are your favorite apps?

    1. @Sophia.C. LOVE Diptic. Great app. Let’s you make some really cool compilations.

They have done a great job improving it, too. More flexibility and layouts.

    1. @Matttanguay iPhone 5? I thought that just came out. It is called the iPhone 4S.

      Just kidding. 🙂

  5. Mobile apps are hot today. But hiring a developer is too expensive. I used snappii.com to make apps. It’s really easy, the web service allows to make mobile apps in minutes, and without programming skills at all.
