Do Less, So You Can Do More of What Counts

Do Less, So You Can Do MoreMost of us are always striving to do more. Trying to cram as much into our days as our crazy schedules will allow.

The result is busy, hurried days where everything seems to blur together. Some things get done, but much doesn’t.

It might be time to ask, “Am I trying to do too much?”

What Should You Do Less Of?

Today’s busy world is filled with too many options. Too many choices. Too many things to do. Too many obligations, both internal and external.

Yet, there is only so much time in the day. And there are hard limits to what you can truly accomplish in a day. (Or a week. Or a lifetime.)

You need to be selective about what you choose to do. After all, you simply cannot do everything that comes your way.

“You can’t do everything, so choose wisely.”

Choose to do the important things.

Do less of the trivial. Do less of what “others think you should do.” And do less of the things that you impose upon yourself.

Instead, do more of what is important. Do more of your goals. And do more of the things that truly matter.

Choose to Do Less

Choosing to “do less,” sounds counterintuitive.

Yet, when you choose to do less, you can do more of the things that will change your life.

Do less today, and get more of the things that matter done.

  2. Great article, Craig. I’ve realized I have too much going on in my life, so I’m also working on reducing all of these things to focus on the more important.

I even started writing about it at http://dolesstodomore.com/. Right now I’m identifying things I need to cut out so I can spend more time writing and researching.I think the best strategy is to combine creating blocks in my calendar for it with gradually waking up earlier and doing it first thing.
