It is a new year, which for most people means new beginnings.
It is a time to start new things.
Yet, many of those resolutions, new habits, and other promises were just talk.
If you didn’t start them yesterday, today is the next best day.
Yesterday is in the Past
You wanted to start yesterday.
You wish you had.
But, you didn’t. And there is no changing that.
“The best time to start was yesterday. If you didn’t, make today the day.” (Tweet this quote)
You can’t change what you didn’t do.
And you will never know what opportunities and progress you let pass you by…
- If you had gotten a new job or degree three years ago… could your career be different today?
- If you had written your long-standing book idea… would you be writing your second book now?
- If you had started your business, brand, or blog four years ago… where should you be today?
If you didn’t start… you will never know where you could, should, or would be…
If You Didn’t Start Yesterday, Do It Today
Don’t beat yourself up that you didn’t start yesterday.
Instead, imagine where you will be tomorrow if you begin today today.
Question: What have you been meaning to start? What can you do today to begin? You can leave a comment by clicking here.
There’s no substitute for action – so staring now, even in a small way, is the right thing. We can learn some much from taking action that hours of analysis will never help with. And there’s no sense of achievement from doing nothing.
Thanks for the helpful prompt.
Some people spend their entire lives dwelling on how everything would be better had they done things differently. I find that a good way of breaking this kind of thought pattern it to distract yourself with a quick walk or some stretches. It helps create the right mindset for following your advice and “making today the day”. Thanks.
I love this post. It’s short but powerful. I too always encourage people to start things today. There is absolutely no reason to wait. Take action today and you will be thank that you did, because a lot of times the hardest part is starting. Once we start taking action, it’s much easier to keep going.
