Complainers Don’t Win, They Just Complain

Complainers Don_t Win

Many people spend their entire lives complaining.

And yet, they don’t take any action.

They would rather complain than do something productive.

Don’t fall into the trap of complaining versus actually doing something about the issue.

Complaining is Procrastination

Complaining is a dark version of procrastination.

You complain to put things off, to avoid actually addressing an issue, or even to just waste time.

You might be afraid to take action because of the fear that something bad will happen. That is always possible.

Well, you know what’s going to happen if you don’t take action?

Nothing.

Sometimes you have to go through the bad. Through the friction. Through the change… in order to get someplace better than you are currently.

Don’t Complain, Instead Do

The next you find yourself complaining, ask yourself, “What would happen if I act instead of complain?”

Action always beats complaining.

Today, don’t complain… instead do something.

Question: Do you ever catch yourself complaining instead of acting? You can leave a comment by clicking here.

  1. Thanks for
    pinpointing this topic, Craig.

    Complainers
are in general like little kids. As a little kid there is basically two ways to
get the attention of your parents:

    1. To do something good which will give you positive attention

    2. To do something bad that will give you negative attention

There has been done a lot of research in this area, and researchers say that
the worst thing for a kid regarding their parents, is to be ignored. Hence, it
is better for the kid to get negative attention, than none at all.

    My point
is, that the same goes for adults. Some people are complaining in order to get
attention. The negative part is, that it does not only put themselves in a bad
spot, but they are feeding their own growing procrastination, one bite every
    time.

What`s even worse, is that they are not only draining your energy, but they may
as well influence your positive mindset in a negative way.

Either you influence other people, or they influence you.

In my experience, the best way to handle complainers, is to ask them if they
    want to fix the situation.

If they say no, you just ask them “okay, so you are just complaining for the
    sake of complaining?”

If they say yes, you say “great, let`s make a quick plan to get out of that
    situation, shall we?”

Whatever you do, do not spend too much time with complainers, they will suck
the energy from you and drag you into their dark world of misery.

Spread positivity and avoid energy vampires.

    1. Tor… some good tips there.

Like the idea of “questioning” the complaining… sometimes people don’t realize their behavior. Of course, other times, they are well aware. 🙂

  2. Whenever I find myself starting to complain, I try and stop myself and really think about a more proactive way to deal with my frustrations.
