Wake Up! It’s Your Mid-Year Wake Up Call…

Wake Up Time-1

Today is July 1st.

Yes… July 1st.

That means that the year is half-over. (Or half-started, if you prefer.)

This is your mid-year wake up call.

A Mid-Year Crisis

You might be saying that the mid-year doesn’t really matter. Yet, the measure of the years is how we anchor ourselves in time.

It’s how we see time pass by.

I don’t want you to have a mid-year crisis.

However, you should take a look at where you are this year… so far.

Have you accomplished what you set out to do? Are you on track to make your goals a reality?

If not, this is the time to get things back on track.

The best time to start on your yearly goals would have been 6 months ago. The next best time to start is today.

Second Half Sprints and Negative Splits

In running and racing, a “negative split” is when you run the second half of the race faster than you ran the first half.

This can be a great way to live the year. Now that you have your plans, and your feet under you… it’s time to sprint out the rest of the year.

Question: What could you accomplish in the 2nd half of the year if you put your all into it?

(For example, a group of us are dedicating July to writing our books. Yes, in one month. Now, that’s a sprint.)

  1. I plan to accomplish so much more the second half of this year than the first. For some reason, my “get-things-done” internal clock runs with the school year even though I have been out of school many years. So I really kick into gear towards the end of August and accomplish lots of things that are on my yearly goals list. Even my day planner is set up to run for a school year because I have a July thru June planner.

  2. I accomplished a lot in the first half of the year. In the second half I would like to complete an upgrade of my blog and social media platforms, write an ebook, and develop an online course for my blog.

  3. I’m running pretty steady. First half was good and I hope the second half will be as well.

  4. I’m really excited about the second half of this year. I support Speakers and Writers with 360 management support services. In Sep I will attend the Writer’s Digest Conference 2013 as a representative for Authors who are unable to attend. So the 2nd part of my year for my VA practice is to get no less than 3 – 5 Authors a few signed agencies. This is really exciting and reachable goal because I will be face to face with Screenwriters and Agents who are looking for writers.

  5. Thinking back around January I was not sure about my goals but this past half of the year I have accomplished many things that I thought I was not capable of
now I’m more optimistic about the next 6 months and focus on my goal 🙂 thanks for this post
